“GrafikArt” gallery had the pleasure of presenting an exhibition of graphics by the artist Vasil Chakarov (1934 – 2018).

Famous and valued above all for his watercolors, Vasil Chakarov (1934 – 2018) during the period From 1966 to 1983, he also created significant graphic works. The exhibition in “Grafikart” gallery gives us a look at these graphic works of the artist. They are executed in various techniques – from woodcut to dry needle and the lithography. They treat different plots. But invariably they respect with high quality, with an unmistakable sense of composition, with a flair for light and subtle inclusion of color. And the main thing – they meet us with an original one an author’s world that makes us think about the values in our lives. Ruza Marinska

Васил Чакъров е роден на 30.04.1934 г. в с. Багренци, Кюстендилско. През 1953 – 1955 следва в Учителския институт в гр. Станке Димитров (днес Дупница). В 1961 се установява в Самоков, където до 1994 година е учител по рисуване. От 1965 до 2017 участва в много общи художествени изложби в страната и в колективни изложби на български художници в чужбина. През 1979 година е приет за член на Съюза на българските художници. Уредил много самостоятелни изложби в София, Кюстендил, Самоков, Пловдив. 2008 година – носител на националната награда за живопис „Захарий Зограф”. 2012 – удостоен със званието „Почетен гражданин на Самоков”. Умира на 28.02.2018.
